Preparing for Monday:

Hello families,

I hope this post finds you well. I wanted to connect with you all - both my 'in class' learners and my 'at home' learners before the calendar flips to June.

June is a new chapter in this extraordinary journey and with it comes changes and challenges for everyone. There is so much to consider and think about... hard to believe all of this preparation is for 1 month!

Thank you for your support and please stay positive!

Students returning to school:

  • Please ensure you have read the story with your child about returning to school (See Friday's post).

  • The majority of the children who are returning to Room 1 are children of Essential Service Workers. Children of Essential Service Workers will be in care at Rogers for 5 days a week, 4 of those days will be in the classroom. For this reason, the 'in class' care/learning is a 4 day plan (not a 2 day repeated plan as mentioned previously). If your child is attending for only 2 of the days, I welcome you to participate in the 'at home' learning choice chart for the remaining days. I will blend the learning as best I can so that students can complete similar activities in the classroom and at home.

  • Please send your child with:

-a non-spill water bottle (all water fountains are closed)

-a snack and lunch (all waste will be sent home)

-inside shoes

  • We will be starting our day with our Morning Walk. Please wear appropriate footwear. Thank you!

Students continuing 'at home':

  • The choice chart will be posted as usual. Lessons on Raz Kids, Prodigy and Starfall will continue to be individualized.

  • A Morning Meeting video will no longer be posted. Instead, sharing videos from 'in class' will be shared via FreshGrade and Zoom opportunities will continue to connect us all together.

  • Work packages will be available, (if requested), for any 'at home' student wishing to have paper copies of some 'in class' learning choices.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
